MAGENTA MEETS LIME

In fashion right now it’s not about the color, it’s about the color combo. One mix that John Galliano used for his couture collection for Maison Margiela and that reappears in more wearable ways in resort presentations is a vibrant concoction of magenta and green. Designers use the two hues in prints, in solids for ensembles, or in a graphic way such as contrasting lapels.

DUVETS GET PERSONAL

The padded scarf has been edging its way onto runways for a few years, but this season it seems to be taking hold. There are rich jacquard versions, floral prints, leopard patterns and reversible solids. Some take the shape of a shawl (like a tiny portable duvet) or a shawl-jacket hybrid. Embellishments include fringed edges, toggle drawstrings, or pyramid-shaped brass studs.
