Early indications in New York this week signal that fluorescents rule for next spring. Some of the freshest looks had the glowing hues placed against not-so-neon brights or nude-toned neutrals. We loved the combos of shocking pink next to lilac, Sprouse-pink with mango, or highlighter green with cocoa brown — all toning down the effect just enough to make these colors wearable for all markets. The neons look great when mixed with each other too, especially right for active or juniors.

White looks right for activewear. All kinds of tech materials are layered in active separates: hooded parkas and knitted mesh tops are detailed with crisp cargo pockets, tape trims and industrial closures, often in contrasting brights or black. New treatments make these optic whites stain and discoloration resistant. Funnel or band necklines are key.
