In French, the moment of early twilight, when the sun dips below the horizon but the sky still glows, is called l’heure bleue. Paris designers seem inspired by that romantic hour, with a range of blues shading from pale azure to periwinkle and inky cobalts. These celestial tints are worked in tonal ensembles or even in gradated dip-dyes that imitate a twilit sky. Several designers paired the blues with deep browns or rich caramels, creating unexpected haromonies.
